INGREDIENTS

  • TWOROOTS SABUDANA
  • ½ cup
  • milk
  • 2 cups
  • water
  • 1 cup
  • sugar (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ cup
  • cardamom pods (crushed)
  • 3-4
  • almonds (sliced)
  • 8-10
  • cashews (chopped)
  • 8-10
  • raisins
  • 8-10
  • ghee (for roasting nuts, optional)
  • 1 Tsp
  • saffron strands (optional)
  • A Pinch

    Instruction

    1. Soak & Prep

    • Rinse the TWOROOTS sabudana thoroughly and soak it in just enough water for 30 minutes.
    • Drain well to remove excess moisture and let it rest for 2 hours.

    2. Cook the Sabudana

    • In a pan, heat milk and bring it to a gentle boil.
    • Add the soaked TWOROOTS sabudana and cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, for 10-12 minutes until the pearls turn translucent.

    3. Add Sweetness & Flavor

    • Stir in sugar and crushed cardamom. Mix well and let it simmer for 5 more minutes.
    • If using saffron, soak it in a little warm milk and add it for extra richness.

    4. Enhance with Nuts

    • In a small pan, heat 1 tsp ghee and lightly roast the almonds, cashews, and raisins until golden.
    • Add them to the kheer and mix well.

    5. Serve & Enjoy

    • Serve warm or chilled, garnished with more nuts if desired.
    PRO TIP

    For a richer taste, replace half the milk with condensed milk or coconut milk!
